During his professional career, Rory M. Shectman has tried over 100 cases to verdict, resulting in numerous six-figure and seven-figure verdicts. Mr. Shectman has the distinction of achieving the highest sustained jury award in New York State for one of his clients who sustained a finger injury. Mr. Shectman successfully argued in the appellate court that his client should receive larger compensation for their injury than those who have come before the court with a similar injury.

For the last nineteen years, Mr. Shectman has been involved exclusively in the handling of Plaintiff’s personal injury and medical malpractice cases from their inception, up to and including, jury selection and trial. He frequently argues in the appellate courts to insure that his clients receive proper representation at all levels of litigation, from the commencement of a case to its successful conclusion.

Mr. Shectman was the lead trial attorney for a client that was awarded a $5,600,000 settlement. His client was on a bicycle and was struck by a car in Queens, NY, and he sustained a brain injury.

Mr. Shectman has extensive experience in all stages of pre-trial litigation, including drafting of pleadings and motions, conducting and defending examinations before trial, as well as handling arbitrations and mediations.
