Just weeks ago, a Port Authority Bus Terminal accident injured 12 and shut down service for several hours; now it has happened again on a bigger scale. According to earlier reporting, the July 11 crash sent one victim to the hospital and stranded thousands during rush hour. According to a recent news report in The New York Post, 29 people were injured, and one person suffered a concussion in the second NJ Transit bus crash near Port Authority in Manhattan, highlighting the reality of repeat transit incidents in Midtown Manhattan. The ramp from the Lincoln Tunnel has now been the location of two serious accidents within a matter of weeks.

At about 8:50 a.m., emergency crews responded to two NJ Transit buses colliding on Ramp 96. One bus rear-ended the other, injuring 29 people and leaving a 69-year-old woman with a concussion and arm injuries, according to reports. Most victims were hospitalized with neck or back pain, and some recalled blood and chaos at the scene. Traffic was not severely disrupted. It was the second crash near Port Authority in just three weeks.
