Pennsylvania Township – Two hurt in construction accident on Sunoco Logistics’ Mariner East 2 pipeline near Pittsburgh.
Many people in Westmoreland County at first thought it was an explosion.
The accident happened on Sunday at about 11:16 p.m, when two workers were pulling a piece of equipment through a section of the pipeline under a road when the equipment struck and injured them.
Energy Transfer, Sunoco’s parent company, said: “Work did stop temporarily during this time to ensure the safety of these individuals and all others on site, but has now resumed.”
Aside from all of the environmental damage and contributions to #ClimateCrisis, #pipeline construction is also dangerous to the workers. There is no reason to continue this crisis when we could have a #GreenNewDeal instead. https://t.co/lhvcRL6VBV

Both workers were taken to a local hospital. The cause of the accident is under investigation by OSHA.
