2 Workers Injured At Sunoco Logistics Mariner East 2

Pennsylvania Township – Two hurt in construction accident on Sunoco Logistics’ Mariner East 2 pipeline near Pittsburgh.

Many people in Westmoreland County at first thought it was an explosion.

The accident happened on Sunday at about 11:16 p.m, when two workers were pulling a piece of equipment through a section of the pipeline under a road when the equipment struck and injured them.

Energy Transfer, Sunoco’s parent company, said: “Work did stop temporarily during this time to ensure the safety of these individuals and all others on site, but has now resumed.

Both workers were taken to a local hospital. The cause of the accident is under investigation by OSHA.
