Worker Injured at Central Susquehanna Valley Thruway

Union Township – A construction worker was injured after being trapped 100 feet off the ground, in Union County.

The accident happened on May 1th in Central Susquehanna Valley Thruway (CSVT) construction site in Union Township.

Chief Rick Wetzel of the Union Township Fire Co. said: “There were four workers on top of one of the piers. They were preparing for the next concrete pour and were securing the rebar. The structure bent for some reason. Nobody really knows why at this point,

Two men were trapped in the rebar when it collapsed. One of the workers was able to free himself. Crews were able to rescue the second worker after 45 minutes.
