Worker Dies After Being Struck by a Large Piece of Limestone

Bloomington, Indiana – A man has died after being struck in the head and chest by a large piece of limestone of about 6 feet long.

The accident happened at Swain Hall West, located 727 E. Third St. According to fire department officials workers had been using equipment to lift and place a piece of limestone above an interior doorway when it fell.

The victim was William M. Brown Jr., 35, of Bloomington.

The Indiana Occupational Safety and Health Administration were notified of the incident and are investigating.
