Structure & Crane Collapse in NYC

Hell’s Kitchen, New York – Two steel beams being lifted by a crawler crane fell over at a construction site near Javits Center.

The construction accident occurred around 10:00 a.m. on 12th Avenue near West 34th Street.

Firefighters were on the scene and worked to control the situation.

Representative of The Department of Buildings said: “Upon arrival, DOB inspectors determined that a crane at the site was hoisting a steel beam, when the load knocked over a second upright beam, causing both beams to lean into an adjacent sidewalk shed.

No one was injured in the accident.
