Impactante accidente en el Bronx: un autobús de la MTA choca contra varios coches y deja siete heridos en una escena «como de película».

A Chaotic Afternoon in the Bronx

A quiet Monday afternoon turned chaotic when a packed BX6 MTA bus slammed into several vehicles along East 163rd Street in the Bronx, injuring at least seven people and leaving witnesses describing the scene as something “out of a movie.”

Video footage posted to Instagram shows passengers screaming in panic as the bus continued to move after the initial impact. “What the f**k!” one voice shouted. “Open the freaking door!” another pleaded, while two passengers were later seen leaping from a window to escape.

What Happened

According to the NYPD, the crash occurred around 2:00 p.m. as the westbound bus collided with multiple cars. Witnesses described the bus “smashing into six to seven vehicles” before being stopped by an unmarked police car.

“You could hear the impact from all of them,” witness Wilson Albert told The Post. “It was a lot, bam, bam, bam. Every car she hit made noise.”

Photos from the scene showed a blue MTA bus with a shattered windshield and crushed front end, surrounded by mangled vehicles, airbags deployed, and FDNY crews providing aid.

Officials confirmed that the 63-year-old bus driver and six adult passengers were transported to local hospitals with minor injuries.

Public Reaction and Online Debate

The shocking footage quickly spread across social media, with hundreds of users reacting to the video and questioning how such an accident could occur in broad daylight.

One viewer wrote:

“Looks like the MTA is hiring illegal immigrants for bus drivers.”

While others focused on accountability:

“No explanation of how this happened? How does a bus just plow through cars like that?”

The comments reflect widespread frustration about New York City’s ongoing traffic safety issues, from speeding and congestion to the growing pressure on MTA operators navigating complex, high-traffic routes.

A Reminder About Road Safety

While no fatalities occurred, this Bronx MTA bus crash highlights how quickly a mechanical malfunction or human error can escalate into a multi-vehicle collision.

Under New York State law, bus and commercial vehicle operators are held to higher safety standards. Accidents involving MTA or city-operated vehicles often lead to complex liability cases, involving both municipal agencies and private insurance claims.
