A New York State woman who wrecked the car she was driving on August 4 was found by first responders to have a python snake wrapped around her neck, local media reported.
It didn´t take rescuers long to get to the scene of the accident, as the intoxicated woman had crashed into a fire station in Long Island.
Sarah Espinosa, 22, was traveling westbound in her 2010 Toyota Prius on Jericho Turnpike in the New Hyde Park section of Nassau County around 7pm Monday when she hit a median, plowed into two No U-Turn signs and smashed into a 2011 Nissan Maxima, according the New York Post.
Continuing to drive, she then crashed again, this time head-on into the New Hyde Park fire station, crashing through the garage door and hitting two parked fire trucks inside, the Post report said.
Emergency responders found Espinosa unconscious and smelling strongly of liquor – with the baby ball python wrapped around her neck, the Post reported.
After she came to, she “had no idea where she was or what happened,” the report said.
Surveillance cameras at the firehouse captured the entire fracas, according to the Post.
Espinosa was found in possession of marijuana when police searched her vehicle. She is alleged to have stolen the baby python snake from a pet store in Garden City Park just before crashing her car, police told a Post reporter.
She was taken to Winthrop-University Hospital where she was treated and arrested. She refused to take a Breathalyzer test at the hospital, according to the Post article.
She pleaded not guilty to charges of DWI, petit larceny, reckless endangerment, reckless driving, and unlawful possession of marijuana. Her license was also revoked, the report added.
