Construction Worker Killed By Falling Beam

Montgomery County, Indiana – A man has died after a large steel beam fell from a support post and struck him during work.

The accident happened tuesday morning in a construction work site on Interstate 74 at the 39-mile marker.

According to fire department officials a large steel beam had fallen from a support post, which ended up falling and striking an employee of Illinois Constructors Corp.

Identity of the construction worker has not been released pending notification of next of kin.

OSHA and INDOT were notified of the incident and are investigating.
