7 Killed, 2 Injured in China Construction Site

China – Seven construction workers were killed and two more were injured while they were working at the construction site for the southern headquarters of the state-owned China Communications Construction Company in Guangzho.

The accident happened on Saturday night when inexplicably, a crane collapsed, nine construction workers got trapped under the crane.

A spokesman the Guangzhou Housing and Urban-Rural Construction Committee said: “All construction sites in the city will need to pass an inspection before work can resume.”

The seven construction workers were pronounced dead on scene, the other two injured workers are reported to be in a stable condition.

The identity of the construction workers have not been released pending notification of next of kin.
