Three Workers Hurt In Astoria Construction Accident

New York – Three construction workers were seriously injured while they were working in a construction site, on 28th Road near 31st St. in Astoria, New York.

The accident happened on Tuesday at about 3:40 p.m, when inexplicably, the roof of the house under construction collapsed, the three construction workers got trapped in the debris.

New York City Fire Commissioner Daniel Nigro said: “The construction site received a shipment of building materials earlier in the day. A crane was being used to place the materials on the floor when it caved in trapping three workers.

One of the construction workers escaped from the debris by himself, a second was rescued quickly and a third was trapped under the debris for an hour.

The three of them were seriously injured, and were rushed to NYC Health Hospitals/Elmhurst.

The identity of the construction workers have not been released pending notification of next of kin.
