Man Dies after Accident at Construction Site

Acworth – A construction worker died while working at a construction project on Bascom Hill Road.

The accident happened on May 16 at about 1:00 p.m, when a trench he was working in collapsed.

Ted Fitzgerald, a spokesman for the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) said: “Inspections stemming from injuries or fatalities … generally are not going to be wrapped up in a couple of weeks”

The victim was Christopher Hewey, 37, of Alstead, New Hampshire. Hewey was pronounced dead at the scene, according to authorities . Officials said OSHA has been notified about the accident. The inspection is ongoing.
